Résumé du livre
This historical narrative documents five months of the ill-fated Hancock Expedition of 1867. Launched by the U.S. Army specifically to intimidate, strike and remove the Plains Indians from the vast region between the Platte and Arkansas rivers, the campaign quickly faltered. Pivotal to the narrative is the role played by Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer during his first western field command as part of that expedition, which led to his court-martial and a guilty verdict that to his suspension of pay and rank from the U.S. Army for a full year.
