Résumé du livre

Photography is one of Finland's most successful cultural exports. Now, for the first time, the internationally acknowledged artists are gathered in this extensive book, which accompanies an exhibition traveling around the world. The Helsinki School presents works from over 30 different artists who have been studying or teaching at TaiK, the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. The goal is to introduce a new approach to today's Finnish photography. Based on a concept by Timothy Persons and Jorman Puranen, this amply illustrated volume presents an astounding overview of the school. Featured artists include: Nanna Hânninen, Ilkka Haslo, Ulla Jokisalo, Aino Kannisto, Sandra Kantanen, Pertti Kekarainen, Ola Kolehmainen, Janne Lehtinen, Niko Luoma, Riitta Pâivâlâinen, Jyrki Parantainen, Jorma Puranen, Pentti Sammallahti, Jari Silomâki, Santeri Tuori, and others.
