"The video, Halle-lula, is a 3.5 minute video, captured on a Sony digital video camera and edited in final cut express. I used a handheld camera and recorded in a continuous fashion, to create a home movie feel in which the viewer is invited into a visual narrative of childhood ... Hall-lula attempts to capture through my nieces, a small look into childhood worlds of innocence, playfulness, shyness and beauty. It consists of my two nieces, Gabrielle and Aleathea playing in their apartment hallway in the city of Chicago."--Academic paper.
