Résumé du livre
On Stratton's book `The life, work and influence of Sir Christopher Wren'; compares the relative merits of the classical and gothic styles in architectural design and bemoans the destruction of some of Wren's churches `the steeples might have been left for all the ground they occupied' and Temple Bar `He [G.E. Street] could have left ample space for traffic to the north of it if he had kept his great tower [of the Law Courts in the Strand] further back, with its haystack of a roof which from its position blocks out the sky behind the spires of St. Clements & St. Mary-le-Strand'.
