Résumé du livre
12 short stories
In folklore, the Púca (also spelled Pooka) is one of Ireland's most notable and enigmatic spirits. It is a master shapeshifter, most famously appearing as a sleek black horse with glowing eyes, but also taking the form of goats, cats, dogs, or even a human figure that always retains some animalistic feature.
The Púca's nature is highly unpredictable; it can be a source of either good or bad fortune. Most tales emphasize its mischievous side, delighting in leading travelers astray or taking them on wild, terrifying midnight rides, only to leave them disheveled and confused by morning. However, other stories portray a more benevolent creature that might offer prophecies, warnings, or help to farmers if shown proper respect. Strongly associated with the harvest festival of Samhain (Halloween), the Púca is a creature of the rural landscape-a wild, untamable force of nature that embodies both its capacity for chaos and its potential for blessings.
