Résumé du livre
Of the 43 engraved copperplates (supposedly by Nicolas Beatrizet after Gaspar Becerra) all but 4 appear to have been taken directly from Jan Calcar's illustrations for the De humani corporis fabrica of Andreas Vesalius(Cf. Garrison-Morton). Many plates are signed NB. The engraved anatomical illustrations look like proof plates, but they may be one o the original collections of Valverde plates without text evidently issued for the use of artists. Choulant states that the Valverde plates were sold separately and two entries in the Cushing Biobliography of Vesalius are plates only. This copy of the plates lacks the title page apparently found in Cushing's copy (VI. D.33) and that at the Bibliotheque Nationale (VI. D.34).(Cushing, Choulant).
