There are four main sections to this paper. The first introduces a number of key ideas about student engagement. The second establishes links between student self-assessment and student engagement. The third discusses the development of the REAL (Reflective Engagement : Authentic Learning) Framework. Finally, the authors suggest some ways that the framework can be implemented into all stages of primary school classrooms. [p.1, ed].
