Résumé du livre
A group of hippos live in huts along a river. Most of them enjoy relaxing in the warm water together, but Mrs. Hippopotamus lives slightly apart, preferring her set routine and the solitude of her own little muddy beach. A bit flustered when a monkey starts fishing nearby, she constructs a bathhouse to ensure her privacy. Soon all the hippos gather to watch their little ones dive from the new bathhouse. Walking to the now-deserted big beach for a solitary bath, she notices that the baby hippos have no place to dive and vows to build them a diving board the next day.
