Monthly rainfall amounts attributed to tropical cyclones in June through October exceeded 10 percent of the normal total monthly precipitation in the zone exceeding 100 to 250 miles inland from the Gulf and Atlantic coasts; substantially higher percentages, on a monthly basis, were noted in August, September, and October in several areas.
