Killough was a student at Grubbs Vocational College from 1918 to 1919 and was one of a small group of students that originated the idea of publishing a campus newspaper. THE SHORTHORN (the first issue of which was called THE GRUBONIAN) was begun February 14, 1919, and Mr. Killough was its editor.
