Résumé du livre
The first portion of the account book (ca. 1843 and undated), perhaps recorded by someone other than Chase, is devoted to recording purchase or sale of items labeled as "coats" often priced at as little as ten cents each. Each record identifies an individual, many were women, and may be a record of piecework. The second owner or user was Charles M. Chase and the ledger entries (1878 Feb. 15-1906 Feb. 24) record various personal business dealings such as sale and purchase of goods, farm work, and barn construction.
