Résumé du livre

The Bantu are a minority ethnic group whose ancestors were kidnapped and taken as slaves to the east African country of Somalia in the 1800s. Even after slavery was abolished, the Bantu were marginalized and oppressed. After fleeing Somalia's civil war in the early 1990s and spending a decade in desolate refugee camps, twelve thousand Bantu refugees were allowed to resettle in the United States. Two hundred of those refugees found themselves living in Boise, Idaho, where they met author Stephanie Larkin. "Resettled" recounts the challenges of initial refugee resettlement through the eyes of Larkin, a volunteer who spent seven years helping many in the community adjust to life in the United States.
