Résumé du livre

"Piet Zwart, interior architect, fashion designer, advertising typographer, photographer, critic, teacher and industrial designer, was proclaimed Dutch designer of the twentieth century by the Association of Dutch Designers (BN) in the year 2000. In the twenties he turned the graphic world upside down with dynamic printed matter composed of simple typesetting material and in which business photos were soon also mounted. He designed the legendary Bruynzeel kitchen and advocated a modern education for industrial designers. In 1964 the well-known art historian prof. dr. H.L.C. Jaffe praised him for his talent to let people communicate with each other. In this new monograph the multifaceted oeuvre of Piet Zwart is mainly viewed in an international context. His relationship to De Stijl, Dada, Russian Constructivism and the Bauhaus is discussed in detail, as is the role that Piet Zwart himself fulfilled in the avant-garde."--Back cover.
