This edition features a new chapter on fetal pulse oximetry using a non-invasive electrode placed on the fetus's cheek during labor. Case examples include strips from the cheek electrode and the traditional scalp electrode. This edition also includes information on new drugs used during labor that affect fetal heart rate.
