This collection contains a ten-page handwritten letter (March 13, 1875) from Patrick Duane to Governor B.F. Potts applying for a pardon; two letters (April and May 1875) to Governor Potts from others requesting a pardon for Duane; and a series of letters (1910-1913) between Duane and the British War Office Secretary, requesting a pension from the British government for Duane's military service during the Crimean War.
