He is bullied by the other children, and he has nightmares. One day on a class visit to a city farm, Danni meets a worn-out grey horse called Moonlight, and his injured soul starts to heal. But the nightmares are closing in until a tragedy triggers a magical event which will transform Danni's life for ever.
