Résumé du livre
This report summarizes the general characteristics of a wide range of metallic and industrial mineral deposit types or models which either occur or have the potential to occur in Ontario. The mineral deposit models are mainly intended for use in mineral potential evaluations to classify the mineral deposits within a given area and to assist in identifying which deposit types have the potential to occur in a given area. The characteristics summarized for each model include geological environment, mineralogy, and geochemical and geophysical signatures. The report also presents mineral potential assessment criteria with each model, intended as a framework for the subjective evaluation of the potential for a given mineral deposit type within a particular area. The criteria include geological, geophysical, and chemical criteria for metallic and gem deposit types, and economic criteria for industrial mineral deposits.
