Résumé du livre
General description of the collection: The Herbert O. Mann papers include a completed World War II Veterans Survey questionnaire. Mann states that he was an air observer and spotter for his artillery unit and describes several close calls, including being attacked by German fighters while in his Piper Cub. He states that the discipline in the 2nd Armored Division was strict but fair. Mann claimed that he and most of his comrades were motivated in part by strong religious convictions. He spoke of the German soldiers as being good fighters but serving under wrong leaders. Mann said that he was working on his memoirs when he filled out the questionnaire.
