Résumé du livre
This paper discusses models and practice of professional development and training in terms of underlying philosophy, methods and delivery. It examines the use of these approaches in a variety of settings, with particular reference to initiatives and directions in action learning and in workplace training. Short case studies and examples from industry, TAFE and schools, including recent evaluations in the TAFE sector of the train the trainer model, are presented. The nature of flexible delivery and open learning is outlined and the uses and merits of a range of means of delivery, in particular those using technology, including: printed manuals and modules; interactive television; workshops; computer mediated communication; computer based training; and simulations and games are discussed. Finally, some of the implications for practice in schools are considered.
