Résumé du livre
He agrees to serve on the RIBA Conservation of Ancient Monuments Committee; draws attention to the danger posed to the spire of Chesterfield Church, Derbys, by defective arrangements for using gas to illuminate the clock dials; complains that notice of an exhibition of the work of the Pugin Studentship competitors had arrived in Sheffield too late for his pupil to attend it and thought this was yet another of the many disadvantages suffered by the `country members' of the RIBA; in spite of his efforts to the contrary, the Sheffield Society of Architects and Surveyors had decided to support a petition in favour of the bill to register architects (Feb 1888); he was in favour of the compulsory examination of all architects entering the profession.
