Die-cut shaped book, with upper and right edges randomly scalloped rather than forming a recognizable shape around the illustration. Title and imprint from upper cover. Chromolithographed cover design on glazed paper is characteristic of McLoughlin picture books issued in the late 1880s and 1890s. McLoughlin Bros., Inc. Vice President Charles E. Miller's copy of the Confidential price-list and telegraph code dated July 1, 1894 bears a handwritten entry for "Brisket. [telegraph code name] 215. [inventory number] Bo-Peep & Boy Blue. 10.50 [per gross]." Cover included in pagination. Text lithographed in green ink. Illustrations chromolithographed."
