Mary Elizabeth Benson, daughter of John Augustus Benson (b. 1878)and Sallie Louella Reed (1875-1924), was born in 1900. She married Willis B. Maxwell (b. 1895). Her grandparents were John Donald Benson (1851-192), Mary Ann Frances Brantley (b. 1852), Joel Posey Reed (1841-1904) and Susan Elizabeth Hoy (1847-1916). Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia and South Carolina.
