This book follows two trajectories. The first addresses a theoretical question: how can we design in the Fourth Machine Age while embracing the paradigm of sustainability? The essays collected here attempt to answer this question. The second trajectory stems from a practical question: how can we design a contemporary glass factory within the historic context of an old glass factory in Murano, for a client (Laguna~B)? The images included here present investigations, imaginings, and spatial responses to this challenge. These two trajectories intersect, generating additional tensions and connections.
