In order to rescue a kidnapped child, Holmes is forced to jump into a river. Pneumonia quickly follows, and as his health declines, he reveals cases whereby he has solved the crime but failed to bring the perpetrator to justice, including a second encounter with 'THE' woman. As usual, the ever-faithful Watson records every word.
