Résumé du livre
Depicts the literary, artistic, and political history of France in the century between 1840-1940 through the family history of Alphonse Daudet (1840-1897). Ch. 23 (pp. 205-211), "La France juive", describes how Drumont's book was published with Daudet's financial aid and enjoyed unexpected success. From Ch. 26 on, deals with Alphonse's son, Léon Daudet, a journalist who edited the nationalist and antisemitic journal "Action Française", mentioning his articles against Dreyfus and his supporters. Describes his membership in the Ligue Antisémitique, the Ligue de la Patrie Française, and similar organizations. Daudet's antisemitism reached a height with Léon Blum's rise to power in 1936. However, he left the Action Française in 1941 and died shortly afterwards (1942).
