Résumé du livre

"In 1962 several major art galleries in New York City collaborated on a group of simultaneous exhibitions of the works of Picasso, collectively titled "Picasso: An American Tribute." The galleries involved were: Knoedler, Saidenberg, Rosenberg, Duveen, Perls, Staempfli, Cordier-Warren, New Gallery, and Gerson. At the suggestion of Charles Byron, a close friend who later opened his own gallery, Hans Namuth visited all of the venues and photographed the installations. He used 45 of the photographs to create this maquette for a book documenting the exhibitions. Although the book was never published, Namuth’s maquette stands as an invaluable historical resource for scholars of Picasso and the impact of Cubism on postwar American art."--Metropolitan Museum of Art website.
