Résumé du livre
This report contains a survey of the literature concerned with dynamic performance of small, two-axle, four-wheel drive vehicles. The civilian and military experience with these vehicles is first addressed through statistics related to single-vehicle accidents, primarily involving vehicle rollover. A survey of current techniques for simulating the dynamic performance of vehicles under both on- and off-road conditions is included. The utility of both special purpose and general dynamic simulations is compared. The availability of data necessary for simulating and validating simulations of small four-wheel drive vehicles is also discussed. Finally, the report presents a look at active suspensions and four-wheel steering as advanced design concepts which may apply to such vehicles.
