Résumé du livre
General description of the collection: The William D. Irwin papers include a completed World War II Veterans Survey questionnaire. Irwin had a high opinion of most of the weapons issued, except his bazooka. He usually served alone with a lieutenant doing reconnaissance for potential engineering assignments. Irwin said that combat made the men of his unit realize how much they depended upon each other. In additional comments, Irwin describes how vehicles in the division were named and tells why the division was considered a "ghost" unit.
