Field notes Vol. 702 documents Howard Crum's botanical collecting in 1949 in Jalisco, Mexico, while he was a graduate student at the University of Michigan. The notebook contains a chronological list from June 25-September 1, 1949 consisting of plant name, description, location, and date. Collections are numbered sequentially with numbers 400-1450, and specimen numbers are interspersed with some diary entries. The notebook contains 3 hand-drawn maps. A printed map, 9 loose pages of miscellaneous notes, and 9 specimen labels are inserted. 4 recipes and other notes and addresses are written on the front endpapers.
