Résumé du livre
Canada's top 300 enterprises represent about one-third of the country's output in terms of gross business revenues. Incomplete or inaccurate reporting on their part could significantly impact the quality and accuracy of the statistical estimates produced by Statistics Canada. In 1997 the Key Provider Manager Program (KPM) was initiated to address this concern. The KPM acts as a focal point, facilitating communication and addressing the issues and concerns of both the agency and these key data providers. KPMs each manage a porfolio of enterprises and are responsible for articulating and rationalising the Agency's data coherence and managing response burden. Key Provider Managers provide the agency with a unique, crosscutting view from which to look at the most significant enterprises in the Canadian economy. With this 'big picture' perspective, KPMs are well positioned to address the coherence of enterprise data, the magnitude of survey response burden, and the many issues that affect the quality and timeliness of business survey reporting for large and complex enterprises. This paper will explore some of the 'lessons learned' during the initial three years of the KPM program.
