Résumé du livre
Hedges were a subject of particular interest to Donald Wyman (1903-1993), who served as the Arnold Arboretum's Horticulturalist from January 1, 1936 to June 30, 1970. In his first year as Horticulturist, Wyman created the Arboretum's first hedge demonstration plot. During 1937 and 1938, and later between 1949 and 1953, Wyman visited a number of agricultural experiment stations, arboreta, botanic gardens, private estates, and historic properties, researching and photographing hedge collections. The collection consists of photographs, slides, color transparencies, inventories, planting lists, and a map of the layout of the 1962 collection.
