Résumé du livre

Contemporary Artist and Poet Robert D. Fisher presents a collection of original Zen inspired Tanka poetry in English. 'Specular' takes the reader on a journey through awakening, the causes behind suffering and teachings for a life of harmony with and as a part of nature. Here, art and poetry are used as a tool to communicate the Dharma. The work acts as an entry point to spiritual awakening or enrich an ongoing journey. It is written to aid the end of suffering, within and without, of which the boundary is all but illusion. From the introduction:"This collection of English Tanka poems is inspired by Zen Buddhism with particular attention to The Heart Sutra as well as the three key teachings or Dharma Seals of Buddhism: impermanence, no-self and nirvana. The word 'specular' (meaning to have the properties of a mirror) and the image of a specular lake is used as a metaphor for The Heart Sutra. The image embodies the key teaching of 'form is emptiness, emptiness is form'. The mirror reflective water demonstrates a bridging of seemingly two worlds, the material and spiritual, where there is no reality outside of the water and Truth is found in its stillness."From the back cover:the specular lakereflecting flowing seasonsundistorted truthfound in the stillest waterseternal in its naturePartial profits from the selling of this book are donated to sustainability, conservation and wildlife organisations.
