Résumé du livre
This document presents a framework for management of acidifying emissions and acid deposition in Alberta, recommended for implementation as a component of the provincial environmental management process. The framework is based on the application of critical & target loads. The first part contains 6 chapters describing the process to establish critical, target, and monitoring loads; methods of estimating acid deposition; the sensitivity of such receptors as wetlands and soils to acid deposition; the critical load concept and methods of calculation & application of critical loads; and the current state of acid deposition in the province. The second part discusses the framework and the process for its application in management of acid emissions & deposition and in evaluating the effects of proposed new projects. Part three contains additional information regarding inter-jurisdictional issues, monitoring, and future research & development. Includes glossary.
