This collection consists of letters from Reginald Stanley to Daniel J. Miller (1882, photocopy) and to R.E. Fisk, Laura Howey, and J.U. Sanders of the Montana Historical Society concerning his experiences in Montana, plus letters from Stanley's relatives concerning his death. The letters include information on Stanley's discovery of gold in Last Chance Gulch and about the trial of George Ives in Virginia City. In addition there is a letter (1977) from Derric Stanley to Joanne Bowler providing background on Reginald Stanley and other family members.
