Résumé du livre

The system used in Australia of grouping timber species for the purposes of the design of joints made with mechanical fasteners has been examined. It is proposed that the present system, which is largely based on density, be continued, but with some changes to the group limits. The relation between nailed joint strength properties and density has been studied for a large number of species, and group limits for these properties have been derived from the strength density regressions.
