Nearly all the Starbucks in America are descended from one man - Edward Starbuck (1604-1690). This is the story of his Viking origins as verified by DNA analysis by the same authority that validated the remains of Richard III. Edward's descendants created the Nantucket whaling industry and one of the characters in 'Moby Dick' is named Starbuck. There are further links to Benjamin Franklin leading on to the formation of the Coffee industry. The author Peter Starbuck is a direct descendant from Edward Starbuck's brother who remained in England.
