On unnumbered pages 1 and 2, Greene repudiates an "uncalled for libelous circular" circulated by E.A. Sherman regarding the Sloat Monument Association. The "Correspondence" on unnumbered pages 3-7 reproduces an exchange between Greene and Sherman, in which Sherman defends the Association's decision not to accept stone from Greene for the Sloat Monument in Monterey, and Greene rebuts Sherman's intimations of fraud.
