A total of 28 projects were carried out at three different areas of the Mlaysian EEZ of the South China Sea. Depth of the study varies from 51-955 m. Salinity from 32.6 ppt to 34.55 ppt, temperature from 29.39 to 4.42 C; pH from 7.74 to 8.37; dissolved oxygen from 40% saturation to 100% saturation; orthophosphate concentration from 0.01 to 3.861 ug-at P/l; ammonia from 0.01 to 2.33 ug-at N/l; nitrate from 0.01 to 27.12 ug-at N/l; nitrate from 0.01 to 0.17 ug-at N/l. Microzooplankton density in Sarawak waters were between 10 4 to 10 5 cells/m3, in Pahang waters the value varied from 88.5 to 454.2 cell/m3. The grain size texture of the sediment ranged from sand loam to clay loam and composed of more than 40% sand.
