Résumé du livre
Synthesizes information gathered during a two-week fact-finding mission to three countries selected as having made significant progress in aspects of the cultivation of cooler-water marine finfish species: the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, and Norway. The mission included visits to well-established commercial hatcheries and fish farms as well as to research institutions. Topics covered in the synthesis include the technology of production of marine finfish such as turbot and halibut, on-going research and development programs, aquaculture organization and management, funding, licensing, and regulation of the aquaculture industry. Conclusions discuss possible application of technologies observed to conditions in Nova Scotia.
