Résumé du livre
Rosemary Corley Neal of Hampton, a certified genealogist, has written an account of the descendants of Michael Scurlock, who settled on the Northern Neck in the late 17th century - "Tidewater to Texas: The Scurlocks and Their Wives: Norman, Turk, Hendrick, Rose and Allied Lines." She follows the descendants who migrated into the valleys of Virginia and Tennessee and on to Texas. In addition to the four families noted in the title, there are extended accounts of the Finley, Johnston, Medley, Burton, Payne, Garnett, Jones, Towles, Stockley, Vallot-Jenkinson, Cate, Wilhite and Ensminger families, most of which originated in Virginia. Virginia Lee Hutcheson Davis of Williamsburg, writing in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, says "Tidewater to Texas" will "enable many grateful researchers to pursue their family lines and expand upon the culture of the times."
