Peculiarities of the Spa Industry and Health Services in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Development in Russia

The trends in the development of the spa industry and health services in the hospitality industry were analyzed. Health tourism is developing dynamically, in the field of health resort, both at the national and international levels. Various forms of health tourism are becoming important in world tourism, this affects the economic performance of some countries. Many European national tourism organizations use wellness as a marketing theme for their destinations, in particular, certification of sanatoriums and resorts. The main purpose of the study is to identify trends in the field of wellness and spa treatment and promising areas of research in this area. An attempt to bring the Russian spa industry objects in line with the international classification was made. Inconsistencies were identified and an analysis was made of the strengths and weaknesses of the spa industry in Russia. A study of the current state of the spa and wellness industry in Russia and future opportunities for its development in Russia in accordance with the needs and consumer behavior of XYZ consumers is presented. In particular, a survey was conducted on the most preferred procedures and criteria for perceiving the quality of the offered wellness services, as well as services that increase the loyalty and return of consumers to spa centers. Spa and wellness tourism has become a very fashionable tourism segment with high potential for further growth and is a good alternative to traditional tourism as it is seasonally independent and has a very good image in a society that places more importance on "quality of life"
