Résumé du livre

Study consisting of a series of separate reports assessing the production risks for grains and oilseeds in the prairie region. Topics investigated are the description and analysis of current agricultural land uses in the region; long term (60 years) patterns of available soil moisture and other climatic indices; long term yield trends and yield variability for the major crops in the region in relation to weather and technology; and land use flexibility in relation to the different agroecological zones in the region. An appendix describes the agronomic requirements for winter wheat in relation to the soil and climate resources of the prairies.
