This report describes progress made by the federal government on the commitments outlined in the Interim Plan 2001 on Particulate Matter and Ozone. It provides brief summaries of federal achievements in the areas of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, the National Air Pollution Surveillance Network, the National Pollutant Release Inventory, and vehicles and fuels. It then presents details on a future area of activity (volatile organic compounds) as well as highlights of other clean air initiatives.
