The method of presentation in this, third, volume is illustrative and anecdotal. The book consists of a series of pictorial illustrations, each summarizing some key findings of a particular study. Facing each illustration, or chart, is a text that, to varying degrees, describes and comments on the methods of the study, summarizes the findings, and points out the more general significance of both methods and findings.
