Résumé du livre
Poetry. AMPERS&THROPOCENE is a collection of vibrant vispo created using the ampersand.
In these pages, Gary Barwin-burdened, inspired, and liberated by the &-creates visual poems in the shadow of that character (itself but a crippling into place of the Latin word et). Each poem is a meditation on the & and its pretzeling power to hold the eye and generate the simplest thought: plus. Barwin imposes his imagination on this character to produce repeated instances of gorgeous beauty via Escherian reflection, dis- and re-integration, logoism, diagrammatism, abstraction, amoebaification, and a curvilinear Mondrianism before finishing with the flourish of a triskelion. This book demonstrates the power afforded text even at this subatomic level, and it gladdens the eye with every page.-Geof Huth
