Résumé du livre
Correspondence, archaeological and ethnographic field notes, maps, manuscripts, speeches, student papers, printed material, guest books, and drawings relating to Cummings' teaching and archaeological work in the Southwest, Greece and Rome. Correspondence is present concerning Jackson Tewa and the Hopi grazing problem, 1939-1944. Manuscripts and articles by Cummings and others concern Southwestern prehistory and archaeology. Also present are minutes and records of the Hohokam Museum Association, 1937-1946, and of Cummings' Publication Council, 1944-1960. There are guest books from the Kinishba Museum. Field notes, arranged chronologically, relate to archaeological regions and sites in Arizona and Utah including Casa Grande, Empire Ranch, Keetseel Ruin, Pueblo Bonito and more. Ethnographic material includes an account of Cummings first meeting with traders, John and Louisa Wetherill in 1908, a description of the Hopi Snake Dance in 1911 and 1930, and more. There are 21 oversize maps of archaeological sites in the Southwest.
