This project investigates the way in which the incongruous or contradictory use of pictorial space can influencethe narrative in a painting.The paintings in this research project are based upon the artist's personal experience of migration and travel. They document, in some cases, a visual autobiographical account from the Northern to the Southern Hemispheres and 14 years service spent in the British and Australian Merchant navies.
