David Phillips is an artist and architect who worked for many years in Brisbane. The collection is complete and represents the sum of his whole output as an artist travelling around Brisbane and other parts of Queensland producing sketches of notable landmarks and buildings. It is a highly important collection representing his output over five decades. It comprises approximately 1,500 watercolours, pen and ink sketches and pencil drawings, depicting Queensland buildings, houses and landscapes. The works are unframed and are arranged in chronological order.
