Résumé du livre
Examines the place of the "Jewish question" in National Democracy (Endecja) ideology, based on the Endecja press and books and pamphlets written by party ideologues. Surveys, inter alia, the views of Endecja regarding the participation of Jews in Polish political life, which it considered as negative, especially the role of the Jews during the Peace Treaty negotiations. In economic life, the role of the Jews was perceived as disastrous because of the large number of Jews in trade and crafts. Endeks demanded "dejudaization" of the Polish economy. Polish culture was considered to be spoiled by the Jews. The Endeks connected socialist and communist ideas, and the Bolshevik Revolution, with Jewish influence in tsarist Russia. Describes various proposals by Endecja to curtail Jewish influence in Poland, such as segregation between Jews and Poles in all spheres, and mass Jewish emigration from Poland. Endecja ideologues believed that all Jews were anti-Polish, and made no distinction even between assimilated Jews and Hasidim. Discusses Endecja propaganda, and the stereotype of the Jew in this propaganda.
