Efficient methods for numerical solution of the advection-dispersion equation (ADE) for problems of miscible ground-water solute transport have long been sought by practicing hydrogeologists. We extend the finite-volume Eulerian-Lagrangian localized adjoint method (FVELLAM) for solution of these advection-dominated problems.--Authors' abstract.
